I offer deep tissue, aromatherapy and Indian head massage as basic options. Each massage can be tailored according to your preference of pressure, and areas of concern.
I advise that you choose deep tissue massage if you prefer a deep pressure. It will also aid muscle aches and pains and eradicate knots.
Choose aromatherapy massage if you want a light pressure and a more relaxing treatment. I will also mix the base massage oil with essential oils which relax and soothe the senses.
Indian head massage is an ancient Ayurvedic technique, involving seating massage. The upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp and face are massages with oil. Techniques can even be adapted for those with little or no hair.
The benefits of deep tissue massage include treating migraines, removing knots (especially to shoulder and hip muscles), muscular pain relief, relaxation. It also aids circulation to limbs which can aid weight loss, reduce cellulite and stretchmark visibility.
Aromatherapy massage techniques are good at stimulating the lymphatic system which help to treat swelling and water retention. Using the oils can also help with mood swings, stress, anxiety and depression.
The benefits of Indian head massage include relieving headaches, reducing stress, reduces shoulder and neck tension. This technique is great for those who are unable to lie down for a massage on the traditional couch.

A knot is a build up of lactic acid which has accumulated inside a muscle (usually trapezius/shoulder) and crystalized.
Lactic acid is produced when a muscle is used a lot, therefore not allowing oxygenated blood to get there quick enough. The muscle becomes deprived of oxygen and starts to ache. This is when lactic acid is formed. If this chemical does not get flushed away, it forms crystals. So many activities can caused this lactic acid build up in the shoulder muscles, including, driving, working at a computer, holding a baby, to name but a few.
As the activities which often cause knots can often not be avoided, a regular deep tissue massage would be advised to break knots and allow full circulation through the muscles. This is the only way to keep muscles health. No pain, no gain!
Massage and beauty services will require you to remove your top (and sometimes bra), but if trousers are loose and stretchy you can leave them on for back massage, head massage and facial. For full body massage, you will need to go down to pants or knickers.
